Sifat Fisik Buah Kedondong

Studi tentang sifat fisik buah kedondong (*Spondias dulcis*) dilakukan untuk memahami karakteristik fisik yang memengaruhi penanganan, pengolahan, dan penilaian mutunya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan parameter seperti ukuran, bentuk, berat, volume, densitas, dan kadar air buah kedondong. Penelitian dilakukan melalui percobaan laboratorium dengan menggunakan lima buah yang dipilih secara acak sebagai sampel. Pengukuran dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi atribut dimensi (panjang, lebar, dan ketebalan), massa, serta volume, yang kemudian diikuti dengan perhitungan densitas sebenarnya, densitas kamba, dan porositas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buah kedondong memiliki bentuk oval dengan berat rata-rata sekitar 78,5 g, densitas sebenarnya sebesar 1,03 g/cm³, dan densitas kamba sebesar 0,92 g/cm³. Kadar airnya tergolong tinggi, yang berkontribusi terhadap tekstur buah yang keras dan karakteristiknya yang berair. Temuan ini bermanfaat dalam perancangan peralatan penanganan pascapanen serta peningkatan kualitas produk selama proses pengolahan dan penyimpanan. Secara keseluruhan, pemahaman terhadap sifat fisik buah kedondong mendukung pengembangan teknologi pertanian dan pengolahan pangan yang tepat.
